“Good morning, it is around 5:00 a.m. at Indian Wells at the BNP tournament that I just got to, and I just want to reflect and think about my good friend Rafa Font de Mora. I've known Rafa for over 15 years. When my daughter started playing tennis, I brought her out to Arizona to meet him, and my life has changed completely with his tutorship and mentorship. Rafa Font de Mora has tremendous character and qualities. I have learned tennis basically from Rafa, and my daughter has grown tremendously — from a seven-year-old kid to recently graduating from Harvard as the number one player and leading their team to the first Ivy League undefeated season in 25 years. Rafa has taught my daughter and myself the game of tennis, and he has also taught us how to carry ourselves with great dignity and character. I have seen Rafa interact with many kids and many parents, and they've all said the same thing: Rafa Font de Mora is a tremendous coach, person, and a great friend. My daughter was an average player when we first got to Rafa, and he instilled a lot of skills with his Spanish style of play. Eventually, she became the number one African American in the United States and number four in the nation. I just really want to thank Rafa for all his help, all his mentorship, and all his training in the development of not only a great tennis player but a great person. My daughter recently graduated at the top of her class and is contemplating turning pro. Rafa, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are the best. Thank you.”

To Whom It May Concern:
I have known Rafa Font De Mora for over 15 years, and his character, integrity and coaching skills are far the best tennis coach I have ever seen. Rafa is not only a great coach but an even better mentor and friend. He trained my daughter, Maxi Duncan, for over 10 years. My daughter recently graduated as the top tennis player at Harvard University (class of 2025). Rafa's coaching enabled Maxi Duncan to guide Harvard to an undefeated Ivy League season — its first in 25 years — and secure a second consecutive NCAA tournament berth in her senior year. Maxi had a stellar career making all-Ivy in singles and doubles throughout her career. I was with Rafa and my daughter every day, every minute, and every second and I can attest the character of Rafa is impeccable. He cares about his students more than himself and he gives 150% effort in every practice and session he trains. He is well prepared and a great motivator not only in tennis but in real life.
During the pandemic he suggested we move to Arizona and train full time at his academy. This was the greatest decision that we ever made because when the pandemic subsided Maxi Duncan won 17 matches in a row (won 2 college tourneys and a pro tourney while still in high school) and shot up to #4 in the nation on tennis recruiting. She was then recruited by every major college in the United States.
Maxi Duncan is joining the WTA tour with her Harvard degree, marking a major achievement. Her success in tennis is thanks to Rafa Font De Mora's leadership and coaching.
Sincerely, Gerald Duncan
