My name is Bo Boamah-Wiafe and I have a fifteen year-old daughter who is a junior USTA player. I am writing this letter in support of her coach, friend and mentor, Rafael Font de Mora. Before I begin, I would like to say that I was completely dismayed, troubled and disappointed when I read the negative stories about Coach Rafael during the Australian Open. It's difficult for me to understand and believe that people are allowed to dredge up old stories simply to smear another person. This was nothing than tabloid fodder designed to ruin Coach Rafael. Now that I have that out of the way, I would like to tell you about the person I know.

Coach Rafael worked with my daughter for a little over a year and the only reason we are not still with him is because he moved to Spain. During the time my daughter spent with Coach Rafael, he was extremely kind and supportive of my daughter in every aspect. I never heard him say a cross word or yell at my daughter. Coach Rafael explained every drill and always asked for understanding before he started the drill or asked my daughter to do anything. From a technical perspective, I don't believe there is anyone better than Coach Rafael. We have spent lots of time at academies in Southern California as well as Las Vegas so I feel confident when I talk about Coach Rafael and his ability to get the most out of all of his students.

Simply stated, I believe that Coach Rafael is one of the most loving and firm coaches I have had the privilege of being around. I will always continue to recommend him highly to juniors or accomplished players who are looking to improve their game. In addition to being a great coach, I believe that Coach Rafael is an even better human being. He is a person whom I feel lucky to have as a friend and I know my daughter feels blessed to have had him as a coach and mentor.

Respectfully, Bo Boamah-Wiafe
